Faith Life

HEADER
At Sacred Heart, our mission extends beyond rigorous academics to nurture the positive development of the whole child. As a ministry of Divine Mercy parish, we aim to help our students grow in faith and service, preparing them to be active, contributing members of both the church and the broader community.

Integrating Faith into Education

Our Catholic values are woven throughout the school curriculum. In Religion class, students learn about Jesus through an in-depth study of Hebrew and New Testament Scriptures, exploring the story of Salvation. We encourage students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus by understanding our faith's principles and engaging in community service. Social justice concepts are emphasized, teaching students to care for others and act with compassion.

Celebrating and Practicing Faith

Students attend Mass together once a week, with different grades planning and leading the services. Sacrament preparation is an integral part of our curriculum:

  • 2nd Grade: First Reconciliation and First Communion
  • 8th Grade: Confirmation

Service and Community

Throughout the school year, we undertake multiple school-wide service projects, giving students opportunities to live out their faith through action. Our warm and nurturing environment encourages respect and kindness among all students. At Sacred Heart School, we are committed to fostering a faith-filled community where children grow academically, spiritually, and socially.

Prayer Families

Prayer Families at Sacred Heart

At Sacred Heart, we have twelve vibrant Prayer Families, each made up of students from every grade, and led by an 8th grader. Each month, the 8th-grade leader prepares a lesson and activity to share with their group. Prayer Families provide a unique opportunity to share our faith across grade levels. They give our 8th-grade Confirmation candidates the chance to lead, teach, and connect with our younger students, fostering a sense of community and shared spiritual growth.
