The Junior Tower Players was founded in 2007 by Mary Michelle Scalise. Mary
Michelle breathed life back into the original Tower Players (the 1970s parish troupe),
by proposing the school develop a theatre program for students. With the mission of
providing Sacred Heart students a theatrical and educational experience in the
performing arts, while reflecting the values of the school, JTP was born.

The motto of JTP has always been “where there are no small parts”, reflecting the
goal that everyone involved in the production, from crew to cast to producers, has an
important role to play. Similar to athletics, it is a team where everyone’s contribution
is vital to the overall success of the production. Children learn that a successful cast
is more important than a successful individual performance: theater is the ultimate
team sport!

JTP creates memories that last a lifetime and encourages confidence, articulation,
imagination, and teamwork. But the benefits go beyond the stage: children learn the
value of commitment, gain confidence, collaborate with peers and adults, and
undeniably discover things about themselves they likely never knew.
The Junior Tower Players (JTP) of Sacred Heart School are at it once again, this time with the side-splitting, delightfully laugh-out-loud performance of "Porridge" by London-Based playwright, Craig Hawes - with shows next week at the Winnetka Community House! When a crime wave hits Happy Valley, there's a caseload of mysteries to be solved! Who's stolen Ma Hubbard's recipe book? Who's kidnapped Marigold the cow? And what dirty secret is Mama Bear hiding behind her Porridge empire? It's down to Private Detective Jackie Spratt to uncover the terrifying truth in this tale of mystery, mayhem and breakfast cereal!
Join Jackie, Goldie Locks and a cast of crazy characters including barmy billy goats, loopy lumberjacks, a potty police squad, and a runaway cow in this delightful musical comedy. It's a familiar tale, told like you've never heard before with familiar fairytale folk brought to life as you've never imagined!
Porridge has all the ingredients of a delicious production - packed with spoonfuls of sparkling songs and bowlfuls of belly-laughs, this hilarious show will leave you wanting seconds and shouting for more!
