Spanish Curriculum

The goal of Spanish class is to learn to communicate in a second language by developing the four language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).  The class will emphasize speaking and listening, but also applying grammar and vocabulary in oral and written contexts.  The class curriculum gives special attention to integrating what we learn in class to real world scenarios. We will learn a lot about the traditions and cultures from other Spanish speaking countries. This is a great opportunity to learn about, interact with and respect other cultures. In this class the students will learn different strategies to effectively acquire a second language.

The class will be taught in Spanish. It is a very active class, filled with fun and diverse activities and exercises that will expose the students to real language usage. The activities will include reading and writing stories, listening activities, singing songs from many Latin American and Spanish traditions, acting out mini plays, and watching videos in Spanish about cultural topics.
