About Me
After a fulfilling career in middle school education in the public schools, I am excited to continue teaching at Sacred Heart. I have taught ELA for over 20 years, mentored new teachers, and led curriculum alignment across grades 5 through 8.
I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and have been a National Board Certified Teacher for over 13 years. Alongside classroom teaching, I have sought out and been appointed to various leadership roles. Notably, I have coached Debate and Model UN, which I plan to bring to Sacred Heart in September!
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband Mike for almost 30 years (this November), and we have a 26-year-old daughter, Allyssa, who is an ICU Nurse at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. Allyssa will be returning to my home state of Texas to earn her Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesiology at Texas Christian University this January. Suffice to say, I am blessed and incredibly excited for my next journey here, at Sacred Heart.
