Mr. Andrew Swanson

I am the new PE teacher and Athletic Director and I cannot express how excited I am for the year! I have been around sports my whole life and basically lived in the gym for so many years. I feel so comfortable and happy that I now get to give my sports/physical education knowledge in a meaningful way.

 

While I was going in school I was a substitute for various schools in the area, and coached basketball for a girls' feeder program. I loved every second of both jobs. Through all of that I learned that being a good educator means having the student's interest at heart, and creating an environment where the kids feel safe, heard and joyous. As the P.E teacher I will also emphasize how to create healthy habits and how to become more fit and active!

I also want to build meaningful relationships with our Sacred Heart students to help them grow in these pivotal years of their lives. I want to help them achieve their dreams and help them strive to be the best person they can be. I strive to be a teacher that they can look back upon with such positivity, as I have with so many teachers of my past.
