Ms. Yaritza Luna

Hello! My name is Ms. Luna, and I am so excited to work alongside the wonderful staff and students at Sacred Heart as the Jr. High ELA/Reading teacher. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with my Bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education. My passion for instructional design and supporting diverse learners’ needs inspired me to complete my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. This will be my sixth year of teaching; it brings me great pleasure to continue my professional career at a school that prioritizes individualized learning and student engagement. I have previously taught English courses for grades 9-12, meanwhile serving as a mentor, club sponsor, and athletic coach.

Over the course of the school year, I aim to create meaningful learning experiences and build positive relationships with students to help them achieve their personal and academic goals. Students can look forward to taking part in an engaging and supportive learning environment as they develop their literacy, metacognitive, and critical thinking skills. I encourage you to reach out as we progress throughout the school year with any questions, concerns, or insights that may arise.

I look forward to a wonderful school year!
